Clae have produced a new range of brushable glazes.  They are  translucent, glass-like glazes, which are an ode to New Zealand lazy summer days.
The brushable glazes can be layed with other Clae glazes or slips for a variety of glaze results.  
 
The Clae brushable glazes come in 400ml containers.
 
We have applied glazes so that the items have a 1 – 2 mm coverage of glaze on a white stoneware.  To achieve a good glaze result, use a soft, wide, brush with preferably natural bristles.  You can add water to thin the glaze if necessary.
Glaze results will vary if you apply a thicker or thinner coat or use a different kiln schedule that we have tested to.
 
Clae glazes have been fired to temperatures 1220 – 1240 deg C in a large electric kiln, using a ramp rate of 2.3rr per minute with a 45-minute hold. 
Glaze will apply differently to either thin or thick items, or items that have a lower/higher bisque than 1000deg C.
